Hemlata joins the company as Chief Marketing Officer and Lead- Impact Investment
New Delhi, 7th December 2021: Digital Futurists Angels Network (DFAN), a global community-backed Angel Network today announced the appointment of Hemlata Varlani, as Chief Marketing Officer and Lead – Impact Investment initiatives.
Hemlata has joined the leadership team to further drivethe angel investment firm’s growth charter and purpose-driven approach. In addition to leading Marketing,
Communications and Branding for DFAN; she will also be a strategic marketing advisor for the portfolio companies. She will explore and drive DFAN’s focus on positively impacting ‘Bharat’ as well as build an approach and framework for impact investments, aimed to generate measurable positive social impact along
with a financial return; spanning Impact-Tech, Agri-tech, Clean-tech, Ed-Tech, Health-Tech and other
sustainability-oriented solutions.Hemlata has 24 years of proven and blended experience with enterprise/corporates, start-ups and social enterprises. Corporates included leadership roles with global mandates for IBM, Intel, Accenture, Toshiba,
Birlasoft, LG & QuEST Global.
At the core of the experience with start-ups, was partnering with passionate founders to help them succeed in their industry and custom stage of
organizational maturity and market readiness. Some of these were – Ninestars (Media-tech and Venture Builder), MarkNetwork LLC (in BlockChain & Crytocurrency), Mastree (Edu-Tech), Farmveda, ReachLawyer, as well as Futuryze.
Prior to DFAN, Hemlata led Marketing, Communications and CSR at Futuryze Digital, a product engineering company with the spirit of a start-up studio. As part of the core & leadership team, her role was to enable customers (early-stage technology start-ups) to take the shortest route to shape ideas into prototypes/ market-ready products through design thinking, product & user research, GTM strategy, positioning, launch, growth & moat strategies, etc. Worked across domains, spanning Impact-Tech, Agri-Tech, Fin-Tech, Edu-Tech, e-commerce, B2C Retail, Data Analytics, SaaS. Actively sought to ideate and deliver on technology-oriented projects and platforms that had a social impact.
Hemlata is an alumni of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) and is a triple post graduate, in the fields of Marketing, PR & Advertising.
